HUMAN CARE COMMISSION


MISSION STATEMENT

To encourage congregations to promote Human Care/Parish Nurse Ministry to care for the whole person by focusing on spiritual well being, which supports mental, emotional, physical, relationships, profession and vocation, social and fellowship, environmental and safety with the integration of faith to meet life events and challenges.


PURPOSE

To contribute to the wholistic care of all people by actively encouraging, supporting and developing Human Care/Parish Nurse Ministry throughout Minnesota North District/LCMS congregations.


OBJECTIVES

1. To provide the scriptural framework to establish a Human Care/Parish Nurse Ministry.

2. To provide wholistic leadership and management skills to congregations

3. To create an avenue for congregations to reclaim and reaffirm the church’s role in being concerned with the whole person-spirit, mind and body.

4. To provide ongoing spiritual support and nurturing tools for Human Care/Parish Nurse Ministry.

5. To promote a Christian lifestyle that cherishes human life and sustains Christian hope.
